Say it with silk!
Saad creates original silk designs-all done in free hand, which has become quite a trademark-In his home studio in Karachi, Pakistan, when he's not tied up with hectic college schedules and a writing career that's just taking off. In less than two years of painting silk, he has participated in several joint exhibits all over Karachi and maintains a decent clientele that can't get enough of his unique, often boldly ethnic designs. The fabrics he prefers are most varieties of satins, chiffons and silks including china, Indian and raw. The designs of silk painting can be very diverse and motifs & textures range from ethnic and coarse to exquisitely refined and intricate.
The products range from ties, scarves, stoles and shirts to tunics, kurtas, dupattas, skirts, nightwear, handbags and jewelry pouches all done elegantly in vibrant, 100% water based colors that are processed for hand washing and dry cleaning and are completely safe under a moderately heated iron. The formal/evening collection often amalgamates the classic western design with eastern brilliance when embellished with intricate embroidery and, or beads and stones to celebrate the rich, cultured dress from the region. This season however, Saad has paid more attention to smudgy, airy florals and bold, lustrous motifs that are indigenous to Pakistan.
